About the team Miro is the leading visual workspace for innovation and is used by over 100 million people worldwide. The Community Experience team is dedicated to our super users, creators, and advocates. We amplify their voices to encourage and inspire more people to share their ideas on Miro and create the next big thing. About the role We're looking for a Community & Advocacy Manager to grow, energize, and activate Miro's community across Japan. This role focuses on designing and executing community programs that bring Miro users together while serving as a visible evangelist for Miro in the Japanese market. A critical component of this role is evangelism: you'll be a visible face of Miro in Japan, regularly presenting at community events, partner gatherings, conferences, and customer meetups. You'll need to be comfortable on stage, able to deliver compelling product demonstrations, and skilled at inspiring audiences to embrace visual collaboration. You won't do this alone for program execution - you'll work cross-functionally with our local Training and Solutions Engineering teams who will help deliver the programs you design. However, you will personally lead evangelism activities, delivering presentations and representing Miro at key moments. If you're passionate about building engaged communities, driving local influence through creators and thought leaders, and energizing audiences through compelling presentations, this role is for you. What you'll do Build and Scale Community Presence Design community-led programs that bring Miro users together across Japan - including meetups, user groups, and community-hosted events Identify, recruit, and enable local Miro advocates and meetup organizers, providing them with resources, swag, and support Plan and execute Miro-hosted events for product managers, engineers, and designers Build relationships with power users, community organizers, and advocates to foster long-term engagement Develop localized activation playbooks that can be replicated so we can learn fast and iterate Serve as Primary Evangelist for Japan Market Deliver 20+ presentations annually at community meetups, partner events, conferences, and customer gatherings Develop compelling narratives and demonstrations tailored for Japanese audiences across different contexts (technical deep-dives, executive overviews, hands-on workshops) Build personal credibility and visibility as a thought leader in the Japanese product development and innovation space Create reusable presentation assets, demo flows, and talk tracks that can be leveraged by the broader team and partners Drive Strategic Partnerships and Activations Identify and secure strategic partnerships with local tech communities, like accelerators, hackathons, professional organizations, and more Identify, manage, and nurture relationships with creators, product experts, thought leaders, and partners who are passionate about innovation and collaboration Create and execute end-user activations at partner events that drive awareness and trial Develop co-creation opportunities (videos, tutorials, event appearances, social content) that extend Miro's reach Execute with Operational Excellence Manage event logistics end-to-end including venue sourcing, registration, collateral production, on-site execution, and content capture Own regional community budget, maintaining operational best practices and ROI accountability Track and report on community metrics including event attendance, content creation, social advocacy, brand sentiment, and evangelism reach/impact Collaborate with Regional Marketing, global Community Experience team, Social teams, and cross-functional partners What you'll need Experience: 5–7+ years in marketing with deep experience in experiential marketing, field marketing, or community building Proven track record as a public speaker, evangelist, or thought leader with 20+ presentations delivered to professional audiences Experience building grassroots communities and enabling user-led programming, particularly with tech and creative communities Experience operating in the Japanese market with deep understanding of business culture, communication styles, and community dynamics Experience operating as a solo marketer with full ownership of program strategy and execution Technical Skills: Exceptional presentation skills with ability to engage audiences ranging from 10 to 500+ people Strong product demonstration abilities, able to showcase capabilities in compelling, relevant ways Strong project management abilities with experience managing multiple events and initiatives simultaneously Budget management experience with demonstrated accountability for ROI Proven ability to toggle between strategic planning and tactical execution Soft Skills: Charismatic and confident communicator who can command attention and inspire action through presentations Comfortable being a public face of the brand and building personal credibility in the market Natural relationship builder who thrives on in-person connection and can quickly establish trust with diverse stakeholders Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating independently and building programs from scratch Native or business-level fluency in Japanese; professional working proficiency in English Nice to have: Experience in the B2B SaaS or collaboration tools space Background in or deep familiarity with product management, engineering, or design roles and workflows Existing relationships within the Japanese tech or design community Previous experience as a technical evangelist, developer advocate, or product evangelist role What's in it for you Competitive equity package Wellbeing benefit and WFH equipment allowance Group Personal Accident Insurance (業務災害総合保険) and Group Long-Term Disability Insurance (団体長期障害所得補償保険).
