A global food trading company, specializing in premium canned crab and seafood products is seeking a Japanese / English Bilingual Assistant to join their Business Development Dept in Manhattan. This position work closely with senior management and external partners in Japan and the U.S. The ideal candidate is resourceful, highly organized, fluent in both Japanese and English, and exceptionally proficient in Excel. This is a full-time, direct hire position. Entry-level candidates and new graduates and OPT Candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply.

JAPANESE / ENGLISH BILINGUAL ASSISTANT QUALIFICATIONS:

• Fluent in Japanese and English (verbal and written)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (must be comfortable with data manipulation, formulas, and reporting tools)
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Strong multitasking and communication abilities
• Self-starter with a flexible, can-do attitude
• Prior experience in trading, import/export, logistics, or seafood industry is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Assist in day-to-day business development operations across sales, marketing, procurement, and logistics
• Communicate professionally in both Japanese and English with suppliers, clients, and internal teams
• Prepare and analyze spreadsheets and reports using Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts, etc.)
• Translate business documents and emails as needed
• Conduct market research and compile reports for strategic planning
• Support customer service functions and maintain accurate order tracking
• Help coordinate international shipping documents and customs paperwork
• Manage administrative tasks and help improve internal workflows
