A travel agency is looking for an experienced Japanese / English Bilingual Travel Agent in the Manhattan area. You will be responsible for building and maintaining a good relationship with the company’s current and future clients, and handle both domestic and international destination for both inbound and outbound travel. Previous related work experience in the travel industry (Travel, Airline, Transportation) is required. This is a Full time and direct hire position.
Japanese / English Bilingual Trave Agent :
-Sell domestic and international travel booking for air, car, hotel and other activities for leisure and business travel
-Share knowledge and expertise from personal experiences and/or education study trips
-Counsel clients on all aspects of travel planning and reservation
-Develop along standings relationships with our customers and build referral and repeat business
-Make appropriate recommendation to ensure the trip experience is tailored to the customer’s expectations
-Responsible for issuing all tickets, re-issuing and re-calculating fares
-Other duties as assigned

JAPANESE / ENGLISH BILINGUAL TRAVEL AGENT:

-1-3 Years experience selling leisure travel, business travel
-Must be bilingual in Japanese and English, for speaking, reading, writing (JLPT N2 level or above)
-Should have proven travel industry experience, or travel related experience
-Knowledge of GDS (Global Distribution System) is a big plus
-Ability to prioritize workloads and work to deadlines
-Excellent communications and team working skills
-Passion for travel
-Solid communication and interpersonal skills
-Comfortable with providing sales in a service environment
-Computer savvy with the ability to navigate between multiple systems
