Job Description – Java Backend Lead About the Role We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Java Backend Lead to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and leading the implementation of scalable backend systems and APIs for enterprise-grade applications. This role requires strong technical expertise in Java and Spring Boot, along with leadership capabilities to mentor developers and drive backend architecture decisions. Role Overview Job Title: Java Backend Lead Experience: 5–7 Years Location: Bangalore / Hybrid Employment Type: Full-Time Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance backend applications using Java and Spring Boot. Lead backend development initiatives and guide the engineering team through the complete software development lifecycle. Develop RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures for enterprise applications. Collaborate with frontend developers, QA teams, DevOps engineers, and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. Review code, enforce coding standards, and ensure best practices in software development. Optimize application performance, scalability, and security. Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-making. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments. Mentor junior developers and support knowledge-sharing within the team. Work in Agile/Scrum development environments and contribute to sprint planning and estimations. Required Skills & Qualifications 5–7 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development. Strong expertise in Core Java, Java 8+ features, and object-oriented programming concepts. Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Hibernate/JPA. Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices. Strong understanding of relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle. Familiarity with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. Experience with version control systems like Git. Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills. Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities. Preferred Skills Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. Understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture. Experience working in product engineering or enterprise application environments.
