INSTITUTE FOR SAFE MEDICATION PRACTICES CANADA (ISMP CANADA)

The Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada (ISMP Canada) is seeking a Developer with Java experience. This role involves contributing to the design, development, support, and maintenance of internal and external web applications written in Java and using supporting technologies such as EntraID and PowerBI to provide extra functionality.
The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who is comfortable working across the stack and collaborating with both internal teams and external contractors. Experience with healthcare data standards (especially HL7 FHIR), web forms, API integrations, and batch data uploads is preferred.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Java development experience.
  • Standalone MySQL or Azure Database for MySQL (or other relational databases) experience.
  • Full-stack development experience.
  • Familiarity with Apache Tomcat and Linux.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Working knowledge of PowerBI.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including EntraID.
  • Frontend development skills (HTML, CSS, Javascript).
  • PHP development experience.
  • Experience working in healthcare environments.
  • Understanding of HL7 FHIR and healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and git version control.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker.
  • Understanding of OAuth 2.0.
  • Agile/Scrum methodologies.
