Java Developer

In need of a Java Developer, Robert Half wants to hear from you if have a strong understanding of software and applications programming and industry requirements and will enjoy formulating and defining systems scope and objectives. Using research and fact-finding, you will recommend developments and modifications for applications or databases.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and logs issues. Works alongside other programmers to correct problems with code
• Assesses processing systems. Builds improvement recommendations
• Builds dictionaries for applications and systems support by the analyst, and ensures they are up to date
• Evaluates user requests for systems changes or improvements. Registers functional requirements and reviews cost, feasibility and utility. Recommends how, when and whether to make the changes
• Helps create communication content for certain system changes being implemented in production
• Provides continuing support for end users and other partner groups through continuing training and assistance for a specific application, system or process
• Build and evaluate programming changes prior to implementation for each systems development phase. Record test cases and expected outcomes. Ensure that requirements are met. May create simple tests or a defined subset of a larger system test. May suggest acceptance/rejection in cases where not all requirements are met
• Serves as the in-house guide for internal clients experiencing programming problems, consulting on applications, systems and/or processes for identifying and resolving, processing/reporting the issues. Consultation can include troubleshooting and/or education
• Previous experience as a project leader for the business portion of developmental applications or major systems improvements
• Demonstrated grasp of programming languages
• Comprehension of PC and mainframe hardware/software
• Effective project management skills
• General familiarity with Engineering
• Good understanding of Java
• Prior experience with REST API
• Previous experience working with Agile project management
• MIS experience highly desired
• Business analysis experience highly valued
• Foundational knowledge in R Code
• Deep understanding of quality
• Customer service experience desired
• Methodology experience preferred
• Experience with Storage
• Design experience
• Expertise in Deployments
• Adeptness in production
• Practical knowledge of Methods
• Earlier work involving Collaboration
• Cloud Technologies experience highly preferred
• Hands-on experience with spring framework
• Demonstrated knowledge of implementation
