About the role We're looking for a Java Development Engineer to join a long-term international project (+1 year, with continuation). You'll work within a cross-functional team, contributing to backend services built on modern Java and Spring-based architectures. If you take ownership of your code, care about clean architecture, and want to work on real challenges — this role is for you. What you'll do • Design and implement microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud • Build and integrate REST, SOAP, and GraphQL APIs • Work with relational databases and MongoDB • Collaborate in agile, cross-functional teams • Maintain code quality through reviews and engineering best practices • Contribute to technical documentation and architecture decisions Requirements Must have: • Degree in Computer Engineering, Systems, Telecommunications, or related field • 3+ years of experience in Java development • Solid knowledge of microservices with Spring (Boot, Cloud, Security) • API experience: REST, SOAP, GraphQL, XML/XSD, JSON • Relational databases and MongoDB • Git for version control • English B2 (written and spoken — you'll work with international teams) • Strong teamwork and communication skills Nice to have: • Agile / Scrum experience • Python scripting • Docker, Kubernetes, or Swarm • B2B messaging platforms • Knowledge of digital certificates Conditions Modality: Hybrid — 2 days in office, rest from home Location: Medellín, Colombia Salary: up to 6,000,000 COP depending on experience.
