LEAD, DATA ENGINEER:

On behalf of our Healthcare client, Procom is searching for a Lead, Data Engineer for a 7 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with up to 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto, ON office.

LEAD, DATA ENGINEER - JOB DESCRIPTION:

This new Lead Data Engineer role is part of Ontario’s EHR project, focusing on registry backlog remediation. The project involves application development and maintenance to create new services, optimize existing services, and reduce security vulnerabilities within the registry systems.

LEAD, DATA ENGINEER - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • Extensive Java development experience
  • Strong programming skills with Java Server pages (JSP) and servlets, Web frameworks (e.g., Struts and Spring)
  • Experience with IBM InfoSphere Master Data Management Identity Hub Standard Edition
  • Excellent knowledge of IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
  • Practical experience with HL7 / FHIR messaging
  • Experience with container-based development (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • Experience with SQL programming in relational databases

LEAD, DATA ENGINEER – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Past experience with jurisdictional public health programs (e.g., Immunizations)
  • Experience operating in highly political environments
  • Working knowledge of privacy policies and legislative processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA)
  • Insight of the Provincial Registries
Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight across multiple workstreams within the Registry backlog remediation initiative
  • Develop and maintain applications to create new services and optimize existing ones
  • Reduce security vulnerabilities in applications
  • Share expertise and collaborate with team members to achieve organizational outcomes
  • Ensure timely delivery of support and adapt to changing priorities
  • Plan for contingencies and identify opportunities for improvement
