PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Our client, a leading global Financial Market data provider, is launching a program to create an innovative self-service platform for business content validation of market data streams. The focus is on delivering high-quality, real-time, high-frequency, and low-latency software solutions in a multi-year program aimed at simplifying and streamlining data management. You will be part of an agile team working closely with business sponsors to ensure a top-tier, cloud-based platform for global data consumers.
The projects are technically challenging and utilize cutting-edge technologies, including Java, Kotlin, Terraform, Spring, Kubernetes, Kafka, and PostgreSQL.

SKILLS

Must have
At least 2-4 years of experience in Java Backend Development
Proficiency in core Java concepts such as object-oriented programming, input/output operations, collections framework, multithreading, and design patterns.
Experience with enterprise-level Java applications, including servlets, Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB), Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), JavaServer Pages (JSP), and application servers like Tomcat.
Expertise in various Spring modules including Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring MVC, Spring AOP, Spring JMS, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud.
Ability to develop and integrate RESTful and SOAP-based web services, and knowledge of RPC.
Strong skills in working with relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL, including writing and optimizing SQL queries
Experience with continuous integration and deployment practices and tools such as Docker and Jenkins Pipeline.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
Proficient in using Git for version control and collaboration.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to have
Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito, and a solid understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
Knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX.
Familiarity with tools like Hibernate, JPA, Maven, Postman, Jira, and Docker.
Experience with cloud services and CI/CD practices to enhance software development and deployment processes, preferably on GCP or AWS.
Familiarity with financial IT and market data or reference data providers.
Experience with high-frequency/low-latency development.
Familiarity with monitoring frameworks such as Micrometer and Datadog.
Experience with actor-based frameworks like Akka or Quasar.
Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like HashiCorp Terraform.
Understanding of DevOps practices and tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Exposure to NoSQL technologies like MongoDB and Apache Cassandra.

Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software applications using Java SE and Java EE.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, financial market infrastructure experts, testers, architects, and operations teams.
Review code to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to coding standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.
Implement and integrate web services (REST, SOAP, RPC).
Work with databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL to design and optimize queries.
Utilize version control systems (Git) for efficient code management.
Apply best practices in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) using tools like Docker and Jenkins Pipeline.
Participate in the delivery to production environments, including release notes, release plans, and migrations.
Decompose scope and write technical tasks in Jira, prioritize work within the team, and ensure efficient collaboration to meet project goals and deadlines.
