The roleConsulting Engineer for a public-sector organisation in Germany. You design, build and run data-heavy services on MongoDB and Java, on OpenShift. You also work on the surrounding data/AI stack.

What you will doBuild and maintain Java services
Develop and operate workloads on OpenShift (CI/CD, config, runtime, troubleshooting)
Build data pipelines and analysis flows with Python, Apache Kafka and Apache Airflow
Support exploratory work on agent-based solutions and Hugging Face; Trino and Nessie where needed
Work with the client’s platform, security and operations teams under public-sector constraints

Must haveResident in Germany, German language fluent
SÜ2 already in place, or willingness to undergo SÜ2 (spouse/partner is included and must consent)
MongoDB experience (thorough training will be provided)
Java as your main language, production depth
Eligible to work in Germany

Nice to havePython, Kafka, Airflow in production
Existing MongoDB Enterprise / knowledge-base access
Prior public-sector, KRITIS or classified-environment delivery

Offer12 months, high chance of extension
Two models: hourly contract at €42, or permanent at €4,200 gross per month
