JAVA BACKEND DEVELOPER – CONTRACT

Headcount: 2 | Contract: Until 31 March 2027 (extension intended)

Working Model: Hybrid – 3 days onsite / 2 days WFH

Start: Immediate or up to 1 month notice preferred

THE ROLE

We’re looking for hands-on Java Backend Developers to build and support scalable, production-grade backend services within a modern engineering environment.

• Kafka / event-driven architecture
• Kubernetes & Docker
• Argo CD / GitOps
• GitLab CI/CD
• Prometheus & Grafana
• Elastic Stack
• AMPS
• IntelliJ / VS Code
• GitHub Copilot, Claude, Devin and other AI developer tools

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3+ years commercial software development experience
• Strong Java & Spring Boot experience
• Experience building REST APIs / microservices
• Good understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture
• Experience with Kafka, Docker and/or Kubernetes
• Familiarity with CI/CD and Git
• Strong debugging, problem-solving and coding skills
• Financial services experience is a plus

INTERVIEW PROCESS

Stage 1 – 60 min Live Coding

• Java preferred
• Problem-solving, coding quality and approach
• Data structures / algorithms
• Debugging and refactoring

Stage 2 – 60 min Technical Panel

• Java & Spring Boot
• Microservices & system design
• Kafka / messaging
• Kubernetes & CI/CD
• Observability and production troubleshooting
• Technical trade-offs and real-world engineering scenarios

Experience: 3–10 years preferred.
