We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist. In this role, you will: Deep impact analysis of the demand tickets related to payments processing, especially in customer advices and statements, Global SWIFT GPI changes. Technical Vision & Strategy: Define and drive the multi-year technical roadmap for the payments platform, ensuring alignment with business goals, industry trends (like real-time payments and ISO 20022), and emerging technologies. Architectural Ownership: Design and govern the end-to-end architecture for our payment processing systems. Create resilient, secure, and highly scalable solutions for payment initiation, orchestration, and clearing. API Design & Governance: Lead the design and evolution of our public and internal payment APIs. Establish best practices for API development, versioning, and security to ensure a robust and consistent developer experience. Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a force multiplier for the engineering team. Mentor senior and junior engineers, conduct deep-dive technical reviews, and cultivate a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and quality. Expert-Level Problem Solving: Serve as the final escalation point for the most complex and critical technical issues. Dive deep into code, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents to guide the team to a swift resolution. Cross-Functional Influence: Partner with Product Management, Business Operations, and other engineering leaders to translate complex business requirements into elegant and pragmatic technical solutions. Drive Engineering Excellence: Champion best practices in software development, including automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure coding within the payments domain. To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements: Expert-level proficiency in Java and its ecosystem (e.g., Spring/Spring Boot, Maven/Gradle). Extensive, hands-on experience designing, building, and operating high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems. Deep expertise in designing and implementing secure, scalable, and versioned RESTful APIs and event-driven services (using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar). At least 10 years of significant experience in the payments processing domain, with a strong understanding of the payment lifecycle. Proven ability to lead major technical initiatives from concept to production, and to mentor and influence other senior engineers. A deep understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and data modeling. The successful candidate will also meet the following requirements: In-depth knowledge of payment standards and networks (e.g., ISO 20022, SWIFT, ACH, FedWire, SEPA, Real-Time Payments). Experience with cloud-native technologies and platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker). Experience with modern observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry). Familiarity with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible). A history of contributions to open-source projects or speaking at technical conferences.
