JAVA WEB BACK END DEVELOPER:

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Java Web Back End Developer for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

JAVA WEB BACK END DEVELOPER - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Java Web Back End Developer will support the Clearpool capital markets team by developing and maintaining backend solutions that align with bank’s architectural and technology strategies. This role involves creating high-quality software, resolving production issues, and enhancing technology and processes.

JAVA WEB BACK END DEVELOPER - MANDATORY SKILLS:

• 5+ years of experience in web technologies, IT, or business environments; or a B.S./B.A. in relevant fields.
• Exceptional experience with Java and web backend development.
• Proficiency in RESTful APIs, MQ/Kafka, and SQL databases.
• Experience with AWS cloud services (ECR, ECS, Lambda, security aspects).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of JUnit and Jasmine testing frameworks.

JAVA WEB BACK END DEVELOPER – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

• Understanding of non-SQL databases like AWS DynamoDB.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and share expertise to develop team capabilities.
• Proficiency in large software system development methodologies and practices.

• Support the research and development of frameworks and define standards for development.
• Lead and implement initiatives to achieve business objectives.
• Conduct independent analysis to resolve strategic issues.
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders and ensure project alignment.
• Monitor performance metrics and address any identified issues.
• Decompose business requirements into detailed design specifications and code.
• Design solutions, perform unit testing, and facilitate software delivery.
