Fort Vale Engineering Ltd, based in Simonstone are the World Leader in the design and manufacture of valves and fittings for the transportation of bulk liquids in the tank container, road tanker and rail industries. We are currently looking for a Jig & Tool Design Engineer to join the team in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

The Role: Jig & Tool Design Engineer

  • Permanent and full time (40 hours per week)
  • Predominantly working on the day shift

(Mon to Thurs 07:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and Friday 07:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Toolroom Manager, the Jig & Tool Engineer will design and develop reliable, accurate and cost-effective Jigs, Fixtures and Tools (JFT) to be used in the manufacture of current and new Fort Vale products. This includes the design of Press Tools, Lost Wax Investment Mould Tools, PFS Mould Tools, Machining Fixtures, Weld Fixtures, Assembly Fixtures and Pressure Test Equipment. This role takes responsibility for the implementation of new JFT from concept design through to production. Identifying JFT shortages that need acting upon Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s) and completing appropriate JFT modifications to satisfy the request.
