We are on the lookout for: Job Vacancy: Jira Administrator Job Family: Organisational Enablement Career Level: Professional Advisory Job Purpose The Jira Administrator will be responsible for administering, configuring, and optimising Jira and Jira Service Management environments to support Technology and enterprise-wide service delivery and project management. This role ensures Jira is aligned with ITIL-based service management practices, enterprise service management (ESM) needs, and project governance standards, while enabling efficient collaboration across technical and non-technical teams. In this role, you will: 1.Jira Service Management • Oversee the configuration and administration of Jira Service Management to support ITIL-aligned processes (e.g., Incident, Request, Change, Problem). • Set up service projects, request types, queues, SLAs, and automation rules to streamline IT support operations. • Ensure workflows reflect governance and process standards. • Create and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor ITSM metrics and performance. 2.Enterprise Service Management • Extend Jira Service Management to support non-technical teams. • Design and implement enterprise service request workflows to promote standardized service delivery. • Work with business stakeholders to map cross-departmental processes and improve collaboration. • Deliver training and guidance for non-technical users adopting Jira for service delivery. • Design dashboards that capture and report on ESM KPIs and performance metrics. 3.Project Management Alignment • Customize Jira workflows, fields, screens, and permissions to support diverse project management methodologies. • Work closely with project teams and PMO to ensure Jira configurations support project lifecycle stages and reporting requirements. • Implement and manage plugins or add-ons (e.g., Advanced Roadmaps, Structure, BigPicture) to enhance project tracking, resource planning, and reporting. Ensure all enhancements comply with organizational policy, data governance, and compatibility standards. 4.Governance & Integration Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure Jira usage complies with IT governance, audit, and change control policies. Integrate Jira with enterprise tools (e.g., Confluence, Slack, CMDB, monitoring systems). Participate in reviews and audits related to Jira change management and configuration. To succeed, you will be required to demonstrate the following competencies: • Applies a continuous improvement mindset to enhance service quality, efficiency, and user experience; • Makes sense of operational data and service trends to identify issues and propose effective solutions; • Drives results by monitoring service levels and ensuring timely resolution of requests and incidents; • Encourages innovation by identifying ways to streamline workflows and adopt best practices; • Collaborates effectively across Tech teams, business units, and suppliers; • Communicates clearly and professionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; • Develops skills and knowledge continuously to keep pace with evolving ITSM practices; • Manages complexity and operational challenges with composure, adaptability, and attention to detail. We are looking for a candidate who has a minimum of: • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent qualification; • Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator; • Atlassian Certified Confluence Administrator; • 7+ years of experience administering Jira, with proven expertise in Jira Service Management; • Strong understanding of ITSM principles and project management methodologies; • Experience configuring custom workflows, fields, screens, schemes, and permissions; • Experience supporting both technical and non-technical teams in an enterprise environment. You will also be required to demonstrate: • Experience with Jira plugins and add-on management (e.g. Advanced Roadmaps, Structure, BigPicture); • Familiarity with Confluence, Insight/Assets, and other Atlassian tools; • Experience supporting Agile boards, roadmaps, and project templates; • Knowledge of integration tools and techniques, including REST APIs, webhooks, and middleware platforms; • Strong written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills; • A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement, governance, and operational excellence.
