Description Solterra Academy provides comprehensive special education for students aged 5 to 22 requiring intensive intervention due to severe emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or learning challenges. Join our team as a Classroom Support Staff member in our Vocational department, assisting teachers and support teams in implementing academic, vocational, and behavioral programs in the classroom and surrounding school environment. Under teacher and administration supervision, you'll provide support for activities, transitions, and implement needed behavioral interventions. Record student performance data and contribute to creating a safe environment through effective Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and Positive Behavior interventions and Supports (PBIS) practices. This role may involve rotating among various classrooms. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 2:45 PM (In-Person) Summer Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (In-Person) Please note: This position requires a year-round commitment, including both the regular school year and our summer session. We do not offer summer-only employment. Responsibilities Must be willing and able to get a Public Service license to drive students to and from work sites as well as field trips in a school van. Provide active supervision and assist students ages 18 through 22 who are placed at a community work sites. Assist students with academic tasks. Implement Behavior Intervention Plans with assigned students. Provide feedback to students in a therapeutic manner. Collect data on student behaviors. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's Degree preferred Previous experience working with children with severe behaviors is a plus CPR certification required within 90 days of hire (training provided by Solterra Academy). Certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention required with the first training course provided after hire date (training provided by Solterra Academy).
