PLEASE NOTE:

This specific post is looking for Job Coaches to work PM shifts, for AM shifts please see our other postings under the same company. We are offering multiple positions shifts between 30 to 40 hours per week, and there may be part time positions available depending on availability. The pay for this position is $21.50 per hour. This position will require having a personal vehicle that is registered, insured, and can pass a vehicle inspection.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs. independently and assist with two-person lifts up to 50 lbs.; capable of supporting wheelchair mobility.
  • Physically able to walk and stand for up to 100% of the workday; sit for up to 80%, bend and push/pull for up to 70%, squat up to 25%, and perform repetitive motions up to 80% of the day.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments and indoor warehouse-type settings that may lack heating, air conditioning, and have concrete flooring.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; A.A. degree and one year of experience in developmental disabilities preferred but not required. Experience in vocational training or teaching is helpful.
  • Maintains professional appearance by dressing appropriately for assigned work sites and in accordance with Oparc’s dress code policy.
  • Demonstrates competency in behavior modification techniques, record keeping, confidentiality, math for documentation, written and verbal communication, and problem-solving.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Computer proficient; skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible availability, including potential weekend and evening hours.
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license, a clear driving record, proof of current vehicle insurance, registration, and have access to safe and reliable transportation. Willingness to drive program participants in personal vehicle is required.

    Reports To: Employment Services Supervisor
    Schedule: Varied based on program needs; both early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide direct job coaching and training to individuals with disabilities in both one-on-one and group settings.
  • Deliver social and vocational skills training using instructional strategies and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively using verbal, non-verbal, and demonstrational cues.
  • Promote successful integration and interaction at worksites and in the community.
  • Apply strong customer service skills when engaging with individuals and employers.
  • Collaborate with case managers to develop and implement Individual Habilitation Service Plan (IHSP) goals and objectives.
  • Advocate for individuals and assess needs for reasonable accommodations.
  • Address barriers to employment such as behavior, hygiene, attendance, and productivity.
  • Encourage self-advocacy and connect individuals with appropriate resources.
  • Support individuals in Tailored Day Services (TDS) with discovering internship and job placement opportunities, providing homework assistance and tutoring, transportation training, pre-employment preparation, and individualized support to help them achieve their personal and vocational goals

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation, including daily activity records, goal tracking, emergency drills, skills training, and progress reports.
  • Model appropriate workplace behavior, techniques, and work ethic.
  • Monitor safety and quality of work, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Adhere to the proper care and responsible use of Oparc issued property, tools, and equipment.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
