    • Demonstrates acquisition of new skills ( attends training, engages in school/certification process, learns new clinical/programmatic or fiscal skills).

    • Adheres to and upholds Center Point policies, procedures, and philosophy/functions as a role model for Center Point concepts.

    • Maintains professional, courteous interaction with clients, the public, board members, and senior management.

    • Develops and provides job-seeking workshops/develops and maintains job bank.

    • Collects data and prepares reports that specifically quantify and describe vocational and job development activities.

    EDUCATION/VOCATIONAL PREPARATION

    A Bachelor’s degree in one of the social sciences is required.
    Knowledge of drug addiction, drug abuse patterns, and treatment methodology is required. Experience with vocational counseling and hard to place populations in jobs is also needed. Experience in working in a residential drug or alcohol treatment program is highly desirable. Center Point is an equal-opportunity employer.

    Responsibilities
    1. Assess client’s vocational and educational skills and interests.

      1. Demonstrate to clients how to plan and prepare for jobs and develop job-seeking skills (e.g., resume preparation, job search techniques, interviewing skills).

      • Facilitate group and individual discussions focusing on recovery and employment issues.

      • Identify and develop suitable jobs for clients and maintain a database of job listings provided by employers.

      • Collects data and prepares monthly narrative and statistical reports that describe vocational/job development activities.

      • Develop and provide job seeking workshops for clients.

      • Accompany clients who experience difficulty finding work on job search.

      • Maintain good working relationships with public and private agencies providing vocational assistance.

      • Compiles monthly, quarterly and annual statistical data and written reports of vocational, re-entry, and other program activities.

      • Meet with Program Coordinator and Program Manager to provide oral and written progress updates.

      • Contact local employers to obtain jobs for Center Point clients.

      • Matches client skills with potential employers.

      • Regularly check in with employers and clients in order to facilitate good working relationships.

      • Emphasizes client’s positive attributes and works with client to overcome barriers/deficits to employment.

      • Prepare the client for the vocational phase of treatment through regular counseling contacts.

      • Develop a vocational treatment plan tailored to specific clients.

      • Performs other duties as assigned. May be assigned to other shifts, locations and duties based on agency needs.
