Job Developer Women Empowerment and Employment Readiness (WEER) Temporary Part-Time Posting Date: Location: Wage: Hours of Work: Closing Date:  January 26, 2026 Surrey, BC $28.19- $30.81 per hour 30 Hours per week (until March 31, 2027)  February 28, 2026   Options Community Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering social services across the Southern Fraser region (Surrey, Delta, White Rock and Langley) from early childhood to seniors. Our comprehensive range of programs and services relies on collaborative relationships with individuals, businesses, community groups and government bodies to create focused, effective and responsive resources for the community. POSITION OVERVIEW Help immigrant women thrive in Canada’s workforce! As a Job Developer with the Women Empowerment & Employment Readiness Program, you’ll connect newcomer women to meaningful employment opportunities, build strong employer partnerships, and provide personalized support to help clients navigate the labour market, gain Canadian work experience, and succeed in their careers. Reporting to the Program Manager, the successful candidate will ensure program activities align with funding targets and organizational goals while designing and delivering workshops, events, and resources that support newcomer women in navigating the Canadian labour market. They provide individualized employment counselling, facilitate work placements, job shadowing, and volunteer opportunities, and guide clients through licensing, certification, and workplace readiness. The role emphasizes community engagement by building employer and partner relationships, representing the organization at events, and promoting inclusive practices. Additionally, the Job Developer maintains accurate client records, prepares reports, monitors labour market trends, applies GBA+ principles, and contributes to program improvement while advocating for newcomers and empowering them to achieve sustainable, independent employment. QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in social services or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least one year providing employment or customized support services, particularly for newcomers or vulnerable populations. Career Development Practitioner (CDP) certification, a Class 5 driver’s license, and Level 1 First Aid are considered assets. They bring expertise in newcomer career support, employment barriers, job search strategies, and Canadian workplace standards, and are skilled in assessments, individualized service planning, trauma-informed practices, and motivational interviewing. Strong competencies include group facilitation, report writing, GBA+ application, data management, and technical proficiency. The candidate demonstrates excellent communication, cultural sensitivity, interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills, and can adapt to fast-paced, diverse environments while maintaining flexibility, professionalism, and a client-centered approach. This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
