Job Opportunity: Companion Worker – Join the Right at Home Goldfields Grampians Murray Team Casual position. (Ballarat & District region)

Your Role Will Include:
Companionship & Socialisation: Engage in meaningful activities like puzzles, cards, reading, or accompanying clients to social outings—coffee dates, gallery visits, library trips and more.
Domestic Assistance & Cooking: Light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, dishwasher support, laundry, and light meal preparation or planning.
Transportation Support: Safely transport clients to medical appointments, shops, and community events—using either your vehicle or theirs.
Cognitive Stimulation: Encourage mental engagement through games, reading, and conversation.
Home & Garden Help: Tidy gardens, change light bulbs, clear leaves, and assist with light maintenance tasks.
Safety Supervision: Support fall prevention strategies like ensuring clear walkways and safe lighting setups.
Organisation & Planning: Help clients organise daily appointments and errands—from health visits to haircuts.
Respite Care: Provide essential breaks for family caregivers by offering reliable and compassionate support.
What Key Selection Criteria are we looking for:
Common sense and practical instincts that put the client’s comfort and safety first. Lateral thinking to handle challenges in creative ways. Attention to detail, especially when it comes to cleanliness, safety, and routines. A kind, empathetic attitude and strong communication skills. Flexibility and reliability. A valid driver’s licence (access to a car is a bonus)
Respect for the privacy and dignity of clients.
Availability to work flexible hours across Ballarat and nearby areas.
