JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to join our team. This role offers flexibility for both part-time and full-time candidates (32 hours/week) and is an excellent opportunity for students currently enrolled in accounting, finance, or business programs.
If you are in school for an accounting program, we will provide hands-on training and work with you to create a flexible schedule that accommodates your classes and exams.
In this role, you will be responsible for handling the full accounting cycle, from transaction entry to month-end and year-end closing, for clients across five provinces. You will work closely with our Account Managers to prepare invoices, manage accounts, and maintain financial accuracy.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or administrative support preferred
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • Strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle, AR/AP, and reconciliation processes
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Familiarity with budgeting and payroll processes is an asset
  • Students in accounting/finance programs encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
  • Manage the full accounting cycle: accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing
  • Maintain accurate general ledger and financial records
  • Process payroll and manage employee records
  • Use QuickBooks to record transactions, prepare reports, and monitor budgets
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and forecasting
  • Prepare and issue invoices in coordination with Account Managers
  • Manage client accounts across five provinces
  • Perform administrative duties including answering calls, managing emails, and maintaining organized files
