Ash & Harris Executive Search is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to lead complex, large-scale integration projects in Orlando, FL. This role offers the unique opportunity to own projects from concept through commissioning, acting as both a technical expert and a project leader for clients in the entertainment and manufacturing industries. The ideal candidate will combine deep mechanical design prowess with the leadership skills to guide projects and mentor teams.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.

Experiences

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical system design, stress analysis, and acceleration force calculations.
  • Proven experience with amusement ride safety standards (ASTM) is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks is required.
  • Hands-on experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Proven project management and technical leadership experience.

Other

  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract documents and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office environments is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 35% for client site work.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting, climbing, and working in diverse industrial environments.
Responsibilities
  • Perform full lifecycle mechanical design and analysis, including stress, fatigue, acceleration, and load calculations.
  • Develop and implement integrated mechanical assembly systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety codes and standards (including ASTM).
  • Conduct hazard analyses, risk assessments, and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) to optimize system reliability and safety.
  • Create comprehensive system documentation, including design descriptions, test plans, and maintenance procedures.
  • Produce detailed mechanical designs, assembly drawings, and installation layouts using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
  • Design and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
  • Lead the initial startup, debugging, and commissioning of integrated systems.
  • Act as a technical lead, providing guidance to lower-level engineers, technicians, and contractors.
  • Manage smaller projects ($50k - $250k), including developing schedules, assigning work, managing budgets, purchasing, and overseeing subcontractors.
