Job Title: Network Cybersecurity Engineer – OT Environment

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Network Cybersecurity Engineer with strong Operational Technology (OT) and manufacturing domain experience. This critical role focuses on enhancing the cybersecurity posture of network infrastructure within manufacturing facilities. The engineer will drive the implementation of modern security controls while ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations, serving as a key liaison between cybersecurity and networking teams.

Key Responsibilities: Security Design and Implementation:

  • Develop robust security architectures tailored for network devices within OT environments.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of industrial network devices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISA/IEC 62443) while meeting OT-specific requirements.

Device Hardening:

  • Design security controls that balance risk reduction with operational continuity.
  • Implement techniques such as micro-segmentation, Zero Trust architecture, and SASE models for enhanced protection.
  • Apply secure configuration baselines and ensure patch management strategies are in place.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Partner with the IT/OT network teams to align on secure architecture and operational requirements.
  • Translate technical risks and security controls to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Promote security-first culture through awareness and training sessions.

Monitoring & Incident Response:

  • Monitor OT network traffic and investigate anomalies using security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
  • Create and maintain OT-specific incident response plans and lead remediation efforts.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory trends in OT and manufacturing.
  • Continuously improve policies, procedures, and technologies to elevate the organization’s security posture.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in network security, including at least 3 years in OT/manufacturing environments.
  • Proven expertise in securing Layer 2/3 devices (switches, routers, firewalls) in production networks.
  • Deep understanding of OT protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC-UA) and industrial control systems (ICS).
  • Familiarity with frameworks like NIST CSF, ISA/IEC 62443, and Purdue Model for ICS.
  • Proficient in tools such as Wireshark, Nessus, Firepower, Fortinet, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
