Muncaster Castle is one of The Lake District’s most important heritage visitor attractions. Our stunning site includes an impressive castle with centuries of history plus the associated stables, courtyards and walled gardens, all set in over 70 acres We are home to an important and renowned Hawk and Owl Centre, and many popular seasonal festivals and events.
We are looking for a hardworking, skilled tradesman capable of working across a range of trades to safely complete maintenance and project work to a high standard. You will be a member of the Muncaster Estate maintenance team and could be working at any one of our facilities, hotels, properties or in the castle itself. You will be part of the friendly and supportive maintenance team and enjoy both working together with them or individually as the work requires. You will ensure that repairs and maintenance are carried out to a high standard and support the castle team to prepare for events. Some property renovation projects are carried out by the team and you will work with them to complete tasks to a high standard and to the schedule required by the business. In addition, the estate operate two hotels in West Cumbria, various Holiday lets and a significant number of privately rented properties.

· Complete maintenance and repair work, safely and to a high standard meeting the timescales needed by the business
· Deploy your trade skills to meet the needs of the Muncaster Estate. This will include joinery, carpentery, simple plumbing work, brickwork, plastering and other civil trade tasks.
· Clean and tidy the maintenance workshop to keep it safe and presentable. Clean and tidy work areas during and on completion of jobs to keep visitors and residents safe and satisfied.
· Assist with ordering materials
· Loading and unloading of materials, goods, equipment and tools as required.
· Follow safety procedures and instructions to keep you and others safe and well, including taking part in risk assessment of jobs when needed.
· Carry out other duties on the estate if required eg helping out during events on the estate or helping out in other departments at peak times
· Report any damage or maintenenace requirements to the head of maintenance
