Description

The Joinery Delivery Driver will support the Joinery team by delivering orders to tradespeople, loading and restocking the warehouse and maintaining a tidy workplace in the yard.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Current drivers licence (MR preferred)
  • Forklift licence (preferred, not essential)
  • White Card
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment.
  • Sound understanding of the materials and building industry
  • Willing to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing.)
    This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Astley’s Plumbing and Hardware store in Cobbora Rd - on-the-job training and product knowledge will be provided.
    Above award rates + overtime/penalties on offer.

Responsibilities
  • Working with the Joinery Manager to coordinate and prioritise delivery orders.
  • Identify, pick, sort and load orders in accordance with job allocation
  • Providing high-quality level of customer service to a diverse group of customers and tradespeople (both commercial and industrial)
  • Control deliveries into the warehouse, both consumables for manufacture and deliveries for installations. This will also include regular stocktaking
  • Finding solutions for customers where possible and escalate any issues.
  • Answering phone enquiries regarding arrival of deliverys, invoices and quotes.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment.
  • High degree of manual handling and working predominantly outside.
  • Working as a key/essential member of the delivery and warehousing team.
  • There may be a requirement to travel to collect items from time to time
  • Maintain the work vehicle in line with company policy
