Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Handling the production facility and to fulfill the companies objectives and vision for the growth.
  • Work with Procurement, Projects, Estimation, Design teams to ensure smooth running of the production and projects.
  • Leading the production and installation team from the front to ensure projects are completed in good quality and on time, thereby ensuring long term business with the clients.
  • Handling multiple projects simultaneously, directing technical and administrative team in executing the projects.
  • Recruiting, maintaining, performance management and training the staff to ensure the team is skilled and ready to face varied and difficult challenges at all times.
  • Implement and maintain an Occupational Health and Safety plan
  • Ensure that the company policy and procedures are maintained and implemented at all times. Whilst continuously seeking ways to improve, refine and modify procedures.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure materials are ordered in time not allowing for any delays in production.
  • Manage and instruct the assigned workforce in the undertaking of their allocated work to meet the defined time schedules and quality.
  • Conduct daily meeting with the production supervisors and team leaders.
  • Ensure and maintain full compliance to a specified contract and or scope of work.
  • Monitoring the Project Scope, ensuring that any on-site variation requests are reported and managed in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and control movement of material in and out of the factory
  • Ensuring quality in production and installation from site team and making sure to get it right the first time around in quality, size and finish.
  • Coordination of delivery schedules with project / installation team
  • Have daily safety discussions to ensure safety arrangements in the factory and the staff.
  • Ensure the cutting lists are accurate to minimize wastage.
  • Oversee any on-site production and installation, including the protection of installed items from damage. Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed
  • Exercise control on cost and time overruns & Monitor the manpower budget, planning of the allocated manpower loading, in accordance with the projects requirements
  • Generation of reports related to production.
  • Work with the Project Manager in preparing and submit for consideration all material samples and specifications in accordance with the contract and company’s policies and procedures
  • To consistently keep abreast of market trends and construction methods.
  • Any other duties related to estimation, commercial, production / installation works as assigned by the management.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Joinery Manager or similar role in a manufacturing or woodworking environment, with a strong track record of successfully managing joinery production operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of joinery techniques, materials, and woodworking machinery, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence in craftsmanship.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, and suppliers.
  • Solid organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to overcoming challenges and achieving operational objectives.
  • British citizenship or residency preferred, with a comprehensive understanding of local joinery standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant technical tools preferred.
