Valiant is looking for a Part-Time Joint Exercise Planner to join our team! In this role, you will assist in developing effective, reliable and dynamic joint exercise support to facilitate EUCOM staff training in the warfighting functions. Support the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) events, exercise control groups, and high control (HICON) elements for USEUCOM.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees. This job will primarily be in an Office Setting. Outside working conditions include potential exposure to extreme high temperatures, dry and dusty conditions, and uneven walking surfaces.

  • 3+ years of Joint experience (EUCOM preferred) or NATO experience.
  • 10+ years with US DoD Programs. Experience may be in any combination of these areas: operations, logistics, intelligence, simulations, assessments (ORSA), or plans, strategy, and policy
Responsibilities
  • Supports exercise execution in specialized areas and in accordance with the warfighting functions.
  • Work closely with EUCOM J7 to provide tailored support to the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) events.
  • Provide military skills and knowledge in combination with other technical skills to ensure that optimized war/contingency plans are developed/refined/exercised.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in related warfighting function field to facilitate exercise program and staff training. Facilitate exercise execution for staff training objectives.
  • Provide technical services, as needed, to support assessments, analysis, and operational design.
  • Provide analytical support, technical support, and services for planning, preparing, rehearsing, conducting, and assessing computer-aided joint and combined training events and exercises.
  • Support Joint Exercise Program (JEP) planning conferences; scenario development and synchronization workshops; joint simulations event tests; joint exercise control group operations; facilitated after-action reviews; senior leader seminars; interoperability workshops; table-top exercises; compilation and reporting of joint doctrine lessons learned.
  • Support multinational engagement efforts, to include support of other Department of Defense (DoD) and non-DoD entities
  • Use the Joint Training Information Management System. (JTIMS) in conjunction with the Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) and the Joint Lessons Learned Information System (JLLIS), to identify, collect, analyze, store, and disseminate the data required to support implementation of the JTS and sustain a command joint training program.
  • Gain thorough knowledge of organizational mission, functions, command relationships, issues, goals, objectives, and administrative/support processes to better support the warfighting command.
  • Review proposed directives to ensure conformance with command guidance.
  • Assess existing doctrine/procedures to ensure conformance with organizational objectives, Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Complete administrative/coordination activities for Joint Doctrine and Joint TTPs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Masters Degree or graduate of an advanced US Military Officer-training course (preferred)
    CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Active TS/SCI
