OK Tire 17 Avenue SW is a busy and growing shop, with a great team. We are looking to add one Journeyman Automotive Service Technician or 4th year apprentice that is committed to great customer service and in doing things right the first time. This is a full time permanent position.
We are more than a tire shop, we handle a broad range of mechanical and diagnostic services including work on EV batteries and BMS diagnostics and Hybrids. We are committed to ensuring our customer’s vehicles are safe, and in sound working condition, and keeping our customer’s informed and aware of any upcoming maintenance and service.

EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate has been a licensed Journeyman for 1 to 8 years, has their Out of Province (OPI) license, and has experience on multiple makes and models along with some level of experience on EVs and PHEVs. Candidate must be enthusiastic about working on and learning about EVs and PHEVs. Candidates may be required to work at nearby location affiliated with the Company.
We will also consider a 4th year apprentice for the position that has completed their 1st, 2nd and 3rd year blue book shop hours.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Customer service focused
  • Team oriented with a great attitude
  • Experience with all makes and models
  • Previous experience on hybrids and EVs
  • Proficient with Autel, Snap-on Scan Tool and TPMS Scan Tool
  • Must be computer proficient
  • Must use computer inspection software on all jobs - Autoserve1
  • Must assist with tire services during peak season
  • May be required to work at an affiliated location from time to time.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various automotive systems, utilizing mechanical knowledge and specialized tools within the time parameters established.
  • Diagnose vehicle issues using vehicle scanners, computer searches, and reviewing schematics, ensuring accurate diagnostics and repairs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
  • Assembly, lifting and installation of vehicle parts and components demonstrating physical capability and mechanic experience.
  • Utilize welding and torch cutting skills where required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members for toolbox and safety meetings.
