Description

Skillforce is seeking experienced Journeyman Concrete Carpenters for contract-to-hire opportunities in the Iowa City, IA and Cedar Rapids, IA. areas. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of commercial projects with the potential to transition into a long-term, permanent position. The anticipated schedule for this role is 40+hours a week, and pay is up to $32/hr. depending upon experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Construct, assemble, and dismantle wood and metal forms for concrete pours. * Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine formwork layout. * Install rebar, mesh, and other reinforcement materials as required. * Pour, level, and finish concrete using appropriate tools and techniques. * Ensure formwork is properly aligned, braced, and secured to meet structural requirements. * Safely operate hand and power tools including saws, drills, and concrete vibrators. * Collaborate with other trades and team members to meet project deadlines. * Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety protocols. QUALIFICATIONS: * Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial concrete carpentry. * Ability to read and interpret construction documents and blueprints. * Strong understanding of concrete properties and curing processes. * Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites.
