JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical systems and installations, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This role involves working on various projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and delivering high-quality electrical work.

SKILLS

  • Valid Ontario journeyman electrician license (309A Construction Electrician or 442A Industrial Electrician are an added bonus)
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience as a journeyman electrician
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including industrial electrician experience.
  • Experience in construction, industrial, or maintenance electrical work
  • Familiarity with commercial/industrial electrical systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
  • Knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code and CEC standards
  • Experience with electrical panel work and circuit analysis
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Professional communication skills
  • Flexibility to respond to emergency calls when required
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on troubleshooting electrical issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential & commercial settings
  • Fix and relocate electrical receptacles and outlets
  • Reset tripped breakers and diagnose electrical panel issues
  • Install and replace light fixtures, switches, and electrical components
  • Connect electrical systems for hot water tanks and HVAC units
  • Respond to electrical emergency calls as prioritized by Construction Manager
  • Complete work orders and service tickets based on priority system
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical systems
  • Conduct electrical inspections and identify potential issues
  • Ensure all work meets Ontario Electrical Safety Code and applicable standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using logic controllers and other diagnostic tools.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete installations and repairs.
  • Work with low voltage systems as needed, ensuring all work meets industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
