JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Solar Team Leader to oversee solar installation projects and lead a team of technicians. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical work, construction, and team management. This role is crucial for ensuring that solar installations are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. You will be working with an experienced crew and team lead over the winter until the spring when you will be given your own crew.

SKILLS

  • Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding construction schematics.
  • Experience as an industrial electrician or in a similar electrical role.
  • Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and their safe operation.
  • Familiarity with low voltage systems and electrical components.
  • Previous experience in renovation projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus.
  • General maintenance person skills that contribute to problem-solving on the job site.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of solar technicians during installation projects.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate installation of solar systems.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for installation tasks.
  • Conduct electrical work including low voltage wiring and connections.
  • Oversee the renovation of existing structures to accommodate solar installations.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to programmable logic controllers and other electrical components.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices on job sites.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on installation techniques and safety protocols.
  • Maintain clear communication with project managers regarding project status and any challenges encountered.
