OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with the ability to work on various types of heavy equipment and vehicles. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and mechanical knowledge to ensure that our fleet operates efficiently and safely.

SKILLS

• Proficient in electrical systems related to diesel engines.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools for automotive repair.
• Familiarity with industrial equipment maintenance and repair practices.
• Solid mechanical knowledge, particularly in diesel mechanics.
• Capability to perform heavy lifting as required during repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Hydraulic diagnosis and repair experience and experience with garbage/refuse trucks is an asset.

• Perform diagnostic tests to identify issues with diesel engines and related systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and hydraulic system inspections.
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on vehicles and equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations while operating heavy equipment and performing repairs.
