Nu Edge Construction Ltd. is currently hiring a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic. This role would be joining Nu Edge Construction Ltd.’s workforce as a valuable colleague!

Responsibilities
  • Ability to diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems and electrical systems
  • Repair, adjust, test, and maintain a variety of heavy equipment
  • Check all heavy equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
  • Repair and adjust hydraulic pumps, safety valves, and any other necessary mechanical components.
  • Diagnose defects in heavy duty equipment.
  • Diagnose any faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair that is required.
  • Inspect, repair and adjust gasoline and diesel powered units.
  • Familiarity with tracked and wheeled off-road equipment (dozers, scrapers, excavators, packers, graders, and rock trucks)
  • Estimate the resources and materials to efficiently maintain fleet
  • Complete preventative maintenance checks and diagnostic work on equipment
  • Experience with highway truck and trailer units
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Local to Edmonton or surrounding area
