UPMC McKeesport is currently looking to hire a fulltime Journeyman Maintenance Mechanic to work various shifts that include day, evening and overnight. This role will also have weekend and holiday responsibility. Purpose: Repair, maintain, and assemble General Maintenance equipment related to Patient Care and Facility. Responsibilities: Complete work orders related to General Maintenance in a timely fashion. Complete preventive maintenance related to General Maintenance in a timely fashion. Keep documentation on work and preventive maintenance orders. Repair and documentation of all wheeled equipment. Repair and operate boiler house equipment. Repair and maintain ground-keeping equipment. Operate heavy equipment. Rigging and moving of equipment. Assist in Grounds Keeping duties. Hanging of all facility signs, bulletin boards, and decorative items. Check and maintain automatic doors. Respond to all facility alarms and trouble codes. Perform job task in building trades that do not require journeyman skills. Estimate time and material for assigned jobs. Maintain material for daily and project activity. Investigate technical information and pricing for completion of purchase orders. Work in conjunction with outside contractors assigned to facility task. Adhere to all ICRA requirements concerning patient, visitors, and employee safety. High School Diploma, or equivalent required Technical school or certified apprenticeship in area of employment preferred. Computer applications required to perform essential job functions. Required to perform manual construction labor and lift in excess of 50lbs; also, work in Hazardous Areas when required. Required to interpret and build from blueprints and schematics. Required to climb ladders and work off of scaffolding when necessary. Required to walk, stoop, or stand in positions required for job functions. Maintain physical conditioning to perform necessary construction task. Required knowledge of all hand and power tools required in Building Trades. Required to perform snow removal using proper equipment. Must be able to work in extreme temperature for long periods of time. Able to distinguish alarm sounds, read sign, and recognize colors. May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed.
