What you’ll do ⦿ Equipment Assembly & Repair: Disassemble, inspect, and repair pumps, gearboxes, valves, and other rotating mineral processing equipment primarily in the shop environment. Daily tasks include assembling skid packages involving gearboxes, electric motors, and pumps. ⦿ Mechanical Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical issues with equipment, ensuring operational reliability and efficiency. Success means minimal downtime and high-quality repairs. ⦿ Alignment & Testing: Perform precision alignments of motors, gearboxes, and pumps, and conduct pneumatic and hydro pressure testing to verify equipment integrity. ⦿ Collaboration & Communication: Liaise effectively with engineers, management, and trades colleagues to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities. ⦿ Field Service Support: Occasionally travel to customer sites for pump commissioning and field service work. ⦿ Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture. What you’ll bring Must-haves: ⦿ Millwright certification with inter-provincial tickets or Red Seal certification in Alberta. ⦿ Minimum 3-4 years of ticketed journeyman millwright experience, particularly in assembly, repair, and overhaul of pumps and mechanical rotating equipment. ⦿ Ability to read and understand assembly packages, engineer drawings, and wiring schematics. ⦿ Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work independently and follow procedures with minimal supervision. Nice-to-haves: ⦿ Experience with balancing and alignments on equipment. ⦿ Knowledge of submersible electric pumps and slurry pump systems. ⦿ Exposure to pump/barge systems, cyclone clusters, and large fabrications. ⦿ Customer-focused mindset with a strong commitment to safety.
