We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman PLT to join our team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Red Seal Journeyman Certification as a Power Line Technician.
  • Understanding of applicable codes and regulations.
  • Planning skills of project completion, resource requirements, and project documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution construction, blueprint reading, and understanding of specification requirements.
  • Promotion of safe work practices.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Live-line experience or qualifications
  • 5 to 10 years of experience constructing overhead and underground distribution powerlines.
  • Valid Class 3 or 5 driver’s license with Q endorsement and Driver’s abstract in good standing.
Responsibilities
  • Reinforce company policies and ensure safe and productive completion of the work.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical distribution systems.
  • Splice, solder, insulate, and terminate conductors and wiring.
  • Install and maintain street lighting systems.
  • Erect and maintain poles.
  • Plan site projects and resource requirements with the Supervisor.
  • Coordinate material requirements and effectively manage site materials.
  • Demonstrate technical ability and application of appropriate processes and procedures.
  • Conduct safety meetings and assist with incident reporting and investigations as required.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to apprentices.
  • Maintain detailed project field documentation, reports, and job closing documents.
  • Provide input into performance reviews for apprentices.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and prints.
  • Other duties as required.
