JOB SUMMARY:

We’re looking for a skilled Journeyman Welder/Fitter to join our team. You’ll be responsible for interpreting blueprints, fabricating, and welding various metal structures and components. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in multiple welding processes, a strong understanding of fitting techniques, and a proven track record of producing high-quality work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Journeyman Welder/Fitter certification or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Journeyman Welder/Fitter.
  • Proficiency in multiple welding processes (e.g., SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW).
  • Strong knowledge of metallurgy and various metal types (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
  • Excellent fitting and layout skills.
  • CWB, ABSA, or other relevant certifications are considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions for extended periods.
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 per week

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine the scope of work.
  • Fabricate and assemble metal structures and parts using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
  • Perform welding using various processes, including but not limited to: SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and FCAW.
  • Lay out, cut, fit, and weld metal components to form a complete product or structure.
  • Inspect and test welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment, including welders, grinders, and cutting torches.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to complete projects on time.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to welding and fitting processes.
