KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

· Certified Journeyman Ticket or indentured in the apprenticeship program
· The ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time
· Must be familiar with the different types of scaffolds
· Proficient with and able to use hand tools
· Manual dexterity
· Must be physically fit, able to work at heights and have a strong sense of balance
· Good sense of balance when working on scaffolds
· The ability to solve math problems quickly and accurately
· The ability to get along well with others on a work team
· Must be willing to work in remote job locations
· Must have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job site

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Reporting to the appropriate site supervisor, the Scaffolder Apprentice & Journeyman will be responsible for providing support and in-depth knowledge in the field regarding all matters of scaffolding to ensure Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. achieves their general and specific project requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Check requirements from drawings and written instructions, select materials and set ground levels
· Assemble and fit together steel pipes, support braces and clamps to form bases for scaffolds
· Lift and position sections of scaffolding and bolt pipes together to build up scaffolding equipment
· Place planks over horizontal bars to create platforms
· Check levels in scaffolding structures to ensure safety
· Use prefabricated scaffolding when available
· Dismantle scaffolding at the completion of a job
