JOB SUMMARY

The Industrial Journeyman Electrician performs skilled electrical work, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting. The role requires knowledge of electrical systems, safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a certified electrical apprenticeship program.
  • TWIC Card

EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience as a Journeymen electrician in an industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with industrial electrical systems, including high-voltage equipment, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and motor controls.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Ability to use electrical testing tools such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and circuit analyzers.
  • Skilled in diagnosing and repairing complex electrical issues.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with automation systems or advanced industrial controls.
  • Familiarity with energy-efficient systems or renewable energy installations.
Responsibilities
  • Install Electrical Systems: Install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, and control systems, adhering to electrical codes and standards.
  • Troubleshoot and Repair: Diagnose and resolve electrical malfunctions or system failures in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure the functionality of electrical systems and prevent potential issues.
  • Read Blueprints and Schematics: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics to perform installations and repairs.
  • Work with Equipment: Service and maintain electrical components in industrial equipment, including motors, generators, transformers, and control systems.
  • Ensure Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and ensure electrical systems meet safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work with engineers, contractors, and other tradespeople to complete projects and resolve complex electrical issues.
