POSITION SUMMARY

We are a long-standing electrical contracting company, seeking a Journeyman/Woman or Master Electrician to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to prove their excellence in the electrical field. The ideal candidate will assist in estimating and bidding jobs, teaching/training apprentice electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, motor controls, power backup systems and more. You will also be the go-to person when it comes to leading the team on job sites; in trouble-shooting, assessing and continually producing the excellence that our company is known for.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician (at minimum) in Alberta with current safety tickets
    -Clean Drivers abstract
    -Safety Boots and own coveralls/ hardhat/gloves and safety glasses. Your Own cellphone
    -Experienced operation of aerial trucks, scissor lifts, articulating lifts
    -Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment by taking the lead over the inexperienced or “still learning”, team members.
    -Great communications skills and excellent customer service attitude.

Must-have skills and responsibilities:

  • Experience in industrial or high and low voltage electrical work, ability to read complex blueprints
  • Very computer literate, able to sit at a computer bidding program and put together a comprehensive quote.

· -Continuously upgrading your knowledge of computer controls/access systems, Security cameras, monitoring and recording systems; motor systems and large power back-up systems.

  • Must be able to process change orders and close jobs.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Must be accomplished in using various metering equipment to confirm conformance to wiring diagrams.
  • Must be able to assist in installing electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings
  • Provide material take-offs for electrical facilities equipment requirements
  • Must be able to test, troubleshoot and repair electrical components and circuits for safety and integrity.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to the appropriate personnel.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allows one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Able to work effectively while remaining calm and in-control, under pressure.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally, .

Willingness to work overtime as required, paid on a per day basis over 8 hours or a weekly basis over 44 hours (as per Alberta Labour Standards) whichever is greater.
Work locations will primarily be within Edmonton, Leduc, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, and St. Albert areas.

Responsibilities

DUTIES

-Teach/monitor troubleshooting electrical issues as the senior electrician on the site.
-Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all phases of the project and process change orders
-Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to close-out.
-Manage project scope and changes – track overall budget, out of scope (RFI’s) and keep customer informed
- Ensure that projects are progressing according to scope, maintaining schedules, budgets and quality standards
-Accurately complete production documentation, as required.
-Provide on-site leadership for the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
-Prepare audit documentation and maintain quality standards.
-Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives by the assigned “in-service dates”
-Attend Customer project progress meetings, provide insight and project status updates.
-Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs.
-Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
