REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completed or working toward Journeyperson certification as Electrician, Power System Electrician or Metering Technician trained equal (Alberta-recognized)
  • Background in electrical power distribution, metering, or control systems
  • Familiarity with Alberta’s regulatory bodies (e.g., ASET, Measurement Canada)
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Strong attention to detail and time management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification; knowledge of Alberta OH&S and utility safety rules is an asset
  • Valid H2S Alive Training

Responsibilities

WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE GREAT

This is a hands-on opportunity to work on retail and wholesale metering systems. Alberta’s regulatory environment offers unique challenges and learning opportunities, especially in utility-scale deployments and compliance with Measurement Canada standards

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, test, and commission retail and wholesale metering systems
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on metering installations
  • Ensure compliance with Measurement Canada and Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) standards
  • Manage projects with minimal supervision
  • Maintain client communications and documentation
  • Follow safe work procedures and Rodan’s operating practices
