The Parts Technician, based in our Leduc location, plays a crucial role in managing the inflow and outflow of parts for Pitbull’s fleet, including heavy equipment, automotive, excavators, trailers, and more. This role ensures that necessary parts are available to support the Maintenance & Repairs Department, maintains accurate records, and collaborates with shop and field teams to facilitate efficient operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Journeyperson Parts Technician Certificate (required).
  • Proven experience in a Parts Technician role, preferably in oil and gas, industrial, or heavy equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of parts sourcing, procurement, and inventory management practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, equipment manuals, and vendor catalogs.
  • Proficiency with inventory tracking systems.
  • Reliable, adaptable, and safety-focused, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move parts as required.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
Responsibilities

Inventory and Procurement Management

  • Engage with vendors to source, price, and order parts as required.
  • Maintain adequate consumable parts inventory at the Leduc Shop.
  • Review work orders and purchase orders monthly to ensure proper cost tracking and closure.
  • Work directly with mechanics to source, purchase, and stock the correct parts.
  • Identify trends in parts usage and adjust inventory levels to match operational needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Administrator and the Inventory Clerk to maintain accurate records and ensure smooth operations.
  • Create and issue purchase orders and manage all returns, including both parts returns and core returns.
  • Support efficiency and accuracy in all aspects of parts and inventory management.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Participate in weekly meetings to review equipment schedules and forecast upcoming work.
  • Work closely with the Shop Foreman and the Inventory Clerk to ensure required parts are available for timely servicing and repairs.
  • Receive and process parts requests to facilitate repairs both in the shop and on-site.
  • Coordinate with vendors and drivers for parts pickup or delivery to meet repair schedules.
