JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Widelity is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our innovative technology company. In this role, you will be able to work independently and as a valued team member of our Finance group. This is a full-time position, and candidates must live in the DC/Northern Virginia area. The Junior Accountant will report directly to the Widelity Controller and must be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week.

JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Math, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Understanding of accounting principles
  • The ability to analyze financial statements; meticulous with numbers
  • Keen ability to identify problems and present potential solutions
  • Able to clearly communicate financial information to key stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
  • Enter and organize financial information into the company CRM, deposit checks, monitor security frameworks and adhere to processes and procedures to assure timely and accurate financial data.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, to accurately reflect the company’s financial status.
  • Regularly reconciling bank statements with the company’s financial records to ensure accuracy.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax filings and audits.
  • Provide support to the Controller and other team members as needed.
  • Record and align all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
  • Maintain the general ledger and accuracy of the Chart of Accounts.
  • Managing Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Process employee payroll, including tracking hours worked, calculating wages, and managing deductions for taxes and benefits.
  • Help with preparing budgets and forecasts.
  • Organize and maintain financial records and documentation for leadership and auditing purposes.
  • Collaborate with other across the company to ensure financial compliance.
