Position Summary/Objective: We are seeking a Jr. Accounting Administrator to join our small accounting team in our Hamilton office. You must be willing to learn, have a keen eye for detail and be able to meet tight deadlines. You will be responsible for providing reliable and timely assistance in the preparation of financial records and statements. You will also be required to interact with tenants, building owners, executives and property managers regarding the property’s financial status.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of accounting experience, preference given if in property management accounting.
  • Microsoft office – Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Property management software - Yardi Voyager, Yardi Elevate, considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the maintenance of property accounting records for the assigned portfolio.
  • Perform full cycle Accounts receivable (charge to deposit).
  • Process full cycle accounts payable (invoice to cheque payment).
  • Prepare bank reconciliation and enter journal entries.
  • Assist with performing month-end activities, from balance sheet and account reconciliations to financial statement preparation.
  • Prepare year-end audit working paper files.
  • Assist with budget entry.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly HST reconciliations and filing.
  • Support property management administration staff in responding to financial inquiries.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as requested.
