EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field is preferred. Associate degree with relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree is also preferred.
  • Certification related to benefit administration and/or Human Resources: Certified Employee Benefits Specialist, Professional in Human Resources, SHRM Certified Professional is preferred.
  • High School diploma required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in benefit administration or a related HR function
  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g. Workday)
  • Experience with benefit administration software (e.g. Benefit Solver)
  • Familiar with benefits compliance (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, FMLA)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Benefits Administration
  • Under the oversight of management, assist in the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, etc.).
  • Process enrollments, changes, and terminations in benefit plans.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into benefit administration platform and benefit partner (carrier) systems.
  • Generate reports from HRIS and benefit administration system on a predetermined and ad hoc basis.
  • Employee Support & Communication
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding benefits, including the Benefits department e-mail mailbox.
  • Educate employees about benefit offerings, eligibility, and procedures.
  • Assist with open enrollment and coordinate related communications and events.
  • Compliance & Reporting
  • Under the direction of management, assist in supporting benefit compliance matters within federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA).
  • Prepare and update documentation for benefits department policies and procedures for approval by management
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails for benefit-related activities.
  • Comply with Graham Healthcare Group’s Core Values and Core Competencies.
  • Vendor & Carrier Coordination
  • Liaise with benefit providers and third-party administrators.
  • Resolve issues related to eligibility, claims, billing, and coverage.
  • Review and troubleshoot electronic file integrations for all benefit partners.
  • Data Analysis & Process Improvement
  • In collaboration with management and benefit brokers, monitor benefits utilization and employee satisfaction to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Recommend improvements to benefits processes and employee experience.
  • Leave Management
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources department to administer leave programs (FMLA, STD, LTD, parental leave, etc.).
  • Coordinate with payroll and HR to ensure accurate leave tracking and pay.
  • Prepare invoices for missed deductions and refund of overpayments while employees are on leave.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
