Houston TX/Hybrid   Job Title: Junior Business Analyst   MPACT Strategic Consulting LLC (MPACT) is a consulting and advisory services firm specializing in Emergency Management and Disaster Recovery, Human Services and Case Management, Compliance and Monitoring and business advisory services.  Summary Our team is looking for an entry level Business Analyst to assist our client project and accounting teams. This position will develop and lead analysis and will work alongside our finance team to manage accounts payable and receivable. The ideal candidate will have advanced data analytics skills and critical thinking skills with the ability to adapt to internal and external client needs. Strong creative, innovative, and leadership skills are essential to success. Position Duties: Data Analysis & Insights * Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities  * Build and maintain reports and dashboards using advanced Excel  * Translate data into clear, actionable insights for both internal teams and clients  Financial Management Operations Support * Perform accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks, including invoicing, payment tracking, and reconciliation  * Support financial reporting and ensure accuracy of internal financial records  * Assist with budgeting and project financial tracking as needed  Client Engagement & Consulting Support * Support consulting projects by conducting research, analyzing data, and developing client deliverables  * Assist in identifying business challenges and recommending actionable solutions  * Collaborate with project teams to implement strategies that improve client operations and performance  * Prepare presentations, reports, and materials for client meetings  Innovation & Continuous Learning * Contribute to process improvements and internal initiatives to enhance efficiency  * Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability in learning new tools, technologies, and consulting methodologies  * Stay informed on industry trends, emerging tools, and best practices  Required Qualifications: * Pursuing or completed a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, data analytics, or a related technical field  * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills  * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis) Word and PowerPoint * Understanding of databases such as Power BI * Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment  * Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly  * High attention to detail and organizational skills  Competencies: * Continuous Learning - Assesses own strengths and weaknesses; seeks feedback to improve performance; pursues training and development opportunities; strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; shares expertise with others. * Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; participates in meetings.
