Cambio Consulting Group is seeking a Jr. Data Engineer with a strong background in major database development and fundamentals (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) in an AWS cloud environment supporting mission critical data services. This role requires a technically adept, self-motivated expert who understands the complexities of SQL, AWS, ETL processes, databases, CI/CD principles, and compliance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-2 years of Federal Experience
• 2-3+ years hands-on experience with SQL development and database fundamentals.
• Basic understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling concepts.
• Experience with writing stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Familiarity with database performance concepts like indexing and query optimization.
• Experience building ETL processes and data pipelines using tools like Python, SQL, or ETL platforms (Glue, Step Functions, Lambda).
• Understanding of data integration patterns and best practices.
• Familiarity with data transformation and validation techniques.
• Experience with AWS services, particularly RDS and EC2 for database hosting, and Glue, Step Functions, and Lambda for ETL functions.
• Amazon Redshift experience preferred for data warehousing workloads.
• Understanding of cloud database deployment and management concepts.
• Basic knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD principles.
• Basic knowledge of data management concepts and data cataloging tools and processes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, or related field.
• Relevant Certifications related to Database Engineer: ex. AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Database - Specialty, AWS Certified Data Engineer - Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, Microsoft Certified (SQL Server certifications), PostgreSQL certifications, Python certifications
