As our next 16- months Jr. Engineering Specialist (Co-op), you will be assisting in various needs within the Test Engineering department, including prototype builds, inspection, testing, and reporting.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support Test Lab team and other Product Development team members on daily engineering tasks
  • Support Engineering testing needs and develop tools for efficient test setup.
  • Support the design and test of engineering prototypes.
  • Support the root cause analysis of component failures.
  • Technical report writing
  • Hands-on support of components and testing
  • Support the development and deployment of test equipment and fixtures.
  • Work in compliance with Johnson Electric Motion Technology Canada Safety, Quality, and Environmental systems
  • Work in compliance with Johnson Electric Motion Technology Canada Production System
  • Interaction with production operators, technicians, and other key resources to assist with the documentation, standardization, and improvement of processes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Working toward an engineering degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • Welcome both candidates from both Undergraduate Co-op Program and Graduate Co-op Program
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Independent and self-motivated worker.
  • Committed to meeting deadline requirements.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Willing and able to multi-task and change priorities based on organizational needs.
  • Strong ability to use Microsoft Office Software.
  • Able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • “Can Do” attitude.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to be involved in hands-on projects in the plant.
