Who are we looking for? We are looking for a Jr. Estimator who will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the construction industry while providing accurate and competitive estimates and quotations. This role plays a key part in driving company growth by building and maintaining strong customer relationships, with a primary focus on acquiring and developing new accounts. The Jr. Estimator serves as the primary point of contact for assigned projects throughout the entire project lifecycle. From initial opportunity identification, estimating, project execution, to billing, the estimator is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and successful delivery. What are the responsibilities? Prepare accurate and competitive proposals, quotations, and contracts, including detailed cost estimates Proactively canvass and develop new customer accounts and explore new business opportunities Identify and secure project opportunities by engaging on-site decision-makers, including project managers and site supervisors Conduct cold calling and active prospecting to generate new leads with large general contractors and small builders; follow up and close opportunities Identify potential construction challenges or constraints that may impact project costs and schedules; recommend alternative solutions when appropriate Act as the primary point of contact for customers during project execution, addressing needs, requests, and issues in a timely and professional manner Achieve or exceed established sales targets, goals, and objectives set by Management Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs What type of qualifications are we looking for? Minimum of 2 years of industry-related sales and/or estimating experience (e.g., scaffolding, access solutions, construction services, or related fields) Experience estimating or managing scaffolding or access-related projects is considered a strong asset High school diploma or equivalent required Valid driver’s license in good standing What type of knowledge, skills and abilities we are looking for? Proven ability to network effectively with on-site project managers/site supervisors and a history of building and sustaining strong business relationships Agile and highly motivated self-starter who enjoys working in the construction field, being mobile and is comfortable building new relationships Demonstrated a track record of success in prospecting and growing new accounts, creating opportunities for new work, preparing quotes and pitching new clients Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints Mathematical, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities Basic knowledge and use of computer software: email, spreadsheets, MS Office and familiarity of CAD Software Excellent written and verbal communication skills Personable and a team player Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision under tight time constraints A sense of urgency and capable of responding to matters in a timely manner You’ll love working at Northstar Access because: The People.
