Description

The Operations Engineering department is seeking a qualified Junior MEP Field Engineer to support a variety of small to mid-size capital projects for Metro’s Union Station Gateway (USG). This individual will work closely with Metro’s internal departments and external contractors to provide technical field support for maintenance operations and ongoing construction activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a field support engineer in MEP construction
  • At least 3 years working in high-rise facility environments; strong experience in plumbing and mechanical systems highly preferred
  • Proficient with MEP design drawings; hands-on familiarity with system components desired
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Completion of OSHA 10-Hour Safety Training certification
  • General knowledge of Metro standards preferred
  • Ability to produce clear documentation and communicate effectively across teams
  • Previous experience integrating with organized labor and union maintenance crews a plus
    Pay rate: $65 - $70/hr DOE

Responsibilities
  • Assist with field surveys, quantity take-offs, and drawing markups to support maintenance teams
  • Support field activities related to capital project execution and contractor coordination
  • Prepare and maintain as-built drawings, conduct field verification, and collaborate with multiple Metro departments
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports summarizing tasks completed and project progress
  • Maintain construction logs aligned with Metro standards
  • Coordinate with unionized maintenance crews for surveys within active facilities
  • Participate in regular meetings with Operations Engineering Project Manager to review work assignments
  • Deliver weekly and monthly schedule updates for assigned projects
  • Support Metro design consultants and construction vendors throughout the project lifecycle
  • Perform additional facility-related duties as assigned
  • Work as a fully integrated member of Metro’s operations and project team
